Powering the Cities of the Future with IoT & Real-Time Analytics.

Creole Studios partnered with an environmental tech firm to develop EcoSense, an advanced IoT Smart Building system aligned with KSA’s sustainability mega-projects (like NEOM and Red Sea Global). The platform empowers facility managers to track energy consumption, monitor ambient temperature, and manage occupancy in real-time. We approached the MVP by focusing on stable hardware protocol integration (MQTT/LoRaWAN), real-time time-series data processing, and predictive maintenance alerts. EcoSense turns massive commercial buildings into intelligent, energy-efficient assets.

Optimizing Facility Operations Through Intelligent IoT Integration.

EcoSense is a comprehensive Smart Building and Energy Management System built to drive sustainability in modern infrastructure. By directly integrating custom software with hundreds of physical IoT sensors placed throughout a building, the platform addresses the challenge of energy waste and reactive facility maintenance. EcoSense provides a central nervous system for commercial real estate, allowing operators to visualize power grid usage, automate climate control based on room occupancy, and drastically reduce carbon footprints.

Project Challenges

Heterogeneous Hardware Integration

The system had to communicate with a wide variety of hardware from different manufacturers—including smart thermostats, power meters, and motion sensors—all using different communication protocols.

Massive Data Ingestion

Thousands of sensors pinging data every few seconds created massive concurrent data streams that traditional databases could not handle without crashing or lagging.

Actionable Visualization

Translating raw, complex IoT data into clear, actionable insights for facility managers who are not data scientists was a major UX challenge.

Automated Triggers

The software needed to not just read data, but reliably send commands back to the hardware (e.g., shutting down HVAC in an empty wing) with zero latency.

How did we help?

We partnered with EcoSense to transform complex smart building operations into a centralized, intelligent energy management ecosystem powered by real-time IoT integration. Beginning with MVP planning and infrastructure analysis, we developed a scalable hardware-software architecture focused on live energy monitoring, occupancy-based automation, and predictive facility management.

Our team engineered a resilient backend capable of ingesting and processing massive volumes of real-time sensor data from multiple hardware protocols, including MQTT and LoRaWAN devices. Alongside the IoT infrastructure, we built an interactive web-based command center that enabled facility managers to monitor energy usage, automate HVAC controls, receive predictive maintenance alerts, and manage building performance from a single interface. The final solution delivered a scalable, sustainability-focused platform aligned with Saudi Arabia’s smart city and green infrastructure initiatives.
