Connecting Shelters, Adopters, and Communities
Creole Studios partnered with 101Pet, a Hong Kong–based initiative targeting global markets, to build a custom WordPress platform that connects shelters with adopters worldwide. The platform was approached with MVP development first, focusing on the core adoption journey. The project delivered a feature-rich ecosystem supporting shelter operations, adoption workflows, community interaction, and educational resources all in one place.
101Pet was envisioned as a one-stop hub for pet adoption, designed to make the process of connecting shelters with adopters easier, faster, and more transparent. Beyond listings, the platform introduced real-time messaging, community forums, adoption events, and educational content. By blending operational efficiency for shelters with engaging features for adopters, 101Pet established itself as a global-ready platform for animal welfare and adoption.
Developing 101Pet required tackling a wide set of technical and functional challenges:

Creole Studios approached 101Pet with a structured and phased delivery model:
Creole Studios began with a discovery phase, collaborating closely with the client to define adoption workflows, shelter operations, and community engagement features. Using an MVP-driven approach, we prioritized pet listings, messaging, forums, and resources while validating features through a build-measure-learn process.
We developed the platform using a custom WordPress architecture, extending it with tailored modules for shelters, adopters, and super admins. Shelters received dashboards to manage pet listings and events, while adopters accessed advanced search filters, favorite lists, and detailed pet profiles with photos and medical records.
To enhance engagement, we implemented real-time messaging, community forums, and educational resources such as guides and success stories. A super admin dashboard enabled user management and moderation, while comprehensive QA testing ensured smooth search, messaging, and mobile responsiveness before deployment.
