Eddie Guo, A MD Student and ML & BME Researcher  at the Calgary University has been committed to supporting the general welfare and educational activities of his colleagues throughout their medical training. He wished to enhance the training experience of the trainees so that they can practice with standardised patient scenarios. To achieve this he approached Creole Studios do build an MVP using Generative AI and called it OSCE-GPT.

Building an AI-Powered Clinical Training Platform for Medical Students

Creole Studios began by working closely with the client to gather detailed requirements and define the educational goals of the OSCE-GPT app. This ensured the platform aligned with medical training needs while providing a realistic environment for students to practice clinical communication and decision-making skills.

We integrated advanced AI technologies, including Whisper for generating patient dialogues and GPT-4 for contextual responses, enabling natural and realistic medical consultations. Multiple clinical scenarios were designed to challenge students in diagnosis, communication, and patient empathy.

To enhance structured learning, we incorporated the Calgary-Cambridge framework for guided medical interviews and feedback. The platform was built using NestJS, ReactJS, and OpenAI integrations, hosted on DigitalOcean, ensuring a scalable, secure, and reliable system for modern medical education.
